sometimes people cross your path
they are, were
could be, is
your friend
acquantaince
strangers
family
lovers
it lasted
one second
a few minutes
few days
perhaps weeks
or several months
or even couple of years
or even untill now
perhaps you don't know their names
perhaps you even forgot their names
perhaps you'll never forget their names
But somehow u'll never forget them
somewhere in your memories
they will come up now and then
and affect you
thinking about them
there's always a reason why
they've crossed your path
maybe to make you realize things
to make you see things
to support you
to give advice
to be there for u
to teach you
to hurt you
to love you
to change you
they've made you what you have become
in your mind
soul and heart
their existence
have become who I am
Me
I thank them
thank the ones
who loved me
loves me
hurt me
knows me
support me
adviced me
taught me
spoke to me
stood next to me
cared for me
or even still cares till now
the ones who've crossed my path
I thank you all
because of you
I have become
who I am

Your Existence Means Something to Me
Moleskine customized
Moleskine's, alittle "branded"
Working on to get this Moleskine!
IDFA! here we come! (with Sollie ;-)
Hopefully they still have this Moleskin for 2008/2009 festival
Apple's fantastic marketing freebee! Smart smart...how to approach your market. Target the right audience with the right marketing freebee@Apple's 2007 Worldwide Store Summit. I'm not a superfan of Apple, but I would defenately have attented the summit just to get that Moleskine!
hmm for the AA? nah just kidding ;-) Nice idea of Absolut to use Moleskine for marketing purposes, but I don't see the link between Moleskine users and Wodka drinkers...
Hmm Maybe it's just me.
Why we should stick to speed limitss
While I was rearranging my office... I found a pile of speedtickets !!! Made me real sick... gosh.. I think I should talk to my bookkeeper...to throw it AWAY. I think someone must have kept it to remind me.
So advice for today :
stick to the SPEED limit,
do not use cellphone and drive,
do not drive when it's red,
do not cross an exit line when you already passed it,
do not enter when it says don't (shortcut)
do not park when it says forbidden to park
FYI: I'm a very good driver (more circuitracer) and I've never caused any accidents
12 years of social networking and my internet evolution
The Discovery
1996. The year I was connected the first time with this great phenomenom called "internet".
Technology
I was using a 14k4 modem to dial-in to my PPP/SLIP account.
Don't we all remember those sounds of our modem going "eeeEe ee ee click click Eee -zoomzoom", "handshake" - connected.
The fact that we all recognize the sound of a 'correct' handshake connection proofs that all of us we're hooked like addicts. As soon as the sound differs from the usual sound, we all know we're not connected properly to our internet provider. Sucks. Try again. Especially when we got booted just like that, frustration.
Problems
Dialing in to his provider without a monthly plan wasn't a very good plan, the telephone bills made my parents explode and soon they made my brother block those special dial-in numbers! I think we've all been there, the first telephone bill after we've discovered the true benefits of the Internet.
Untill now I'm still using the same ISP. They changed names over the years, merged or hostile takeovers. I don't care, as long as I'm hooked on the internet, I'll be fine. For the people who wants to know, my ISP was The Internet Plaza, then became World Online, then became Tiscali and now anno 2008 they became Telfort. I'm probably their most loyal and oldest customer.
Internet and Puberty
What can I say? I was 17 turning 18. I didn't smoke, didn't do drugs, alcohol is legal above 16 and I was good student. So I survived the fragile fases of puberty.
To be daily on the internet was the only thing I rebelled on. Okay and my "nightlife" ; after tough negotiating on agreement to come home at 1am, I always tend to be "late" at 3am and my angry yet tired mom would be standing in her pyamas in the hallway. Damn, I always thought I could sneak into my room.
I never recovered from these 2 bloody things. I'm still hooked on the internet 24/7 and my happy nightlife is still going on almost every weekend.
12years of Social Networking
IM
14k4 speed modem, terrific! My first step in the social network world started with IRC.
Downloading mIRC took me roughly about 30minutes!
Started to make my own channels or became a channel Ops, making my own bots and commands on different channels. Having nukes, channelwars, banning etc. Yes this is how I started my social network.
Soon came the 28k8, 33k3, 64k (ISDN) etc modem, twice as fast connection! How glad we all are! Faster downloading scripts, pages and more utilities.
Meanwhile in 1996-98 ICQ started to be an enormous hype and I as well was hooked on ICQ. For those who wants to know : 941-450 (I've been told, any numbers under 7 digits is worth money. I checked on e-bay, 6 digits numbers are for sale now).
Sweet remembrance: don't we all remember that sound when you get a new messageon ICQ "Uh OH" ?
I wonder how many people are still using it, and most of all why?
After ICQ alot more IM programs started to bomb the social life of internet, such as AOL, YahooMessenger and ofcourse how can we forget : MSN (click here for another amazing sound we so love)I'm still using MSN 24/7. The most effective and easy way to reach me.
For those who wants to know: no, I'm not giving you my MSN ID ;-)
Profile and personal pages
I eventually started to design my own webpages on geocities, angelfire etc.
after these free personal pages surfers wanted to be more connected with eachother, so by this time I have cu2 profile page, ringo, hi5, sixdegrees, Friendster, myspace , LinkedIn, tripadvisor, virtualtourist, flickr and now facebook etc.
And for the local dutch people, I also have Hyves. For those who wants to know :
lisax.hyves.nl , www.myspace.com/lisax_piggy , facebook: find me if you can.
do not request for adding please, as we are not friends ;-)
Although all these social network services are booming worldwide, I'm still hooked more on to Hyves than all the others. Based on the statistics, 198 friends on hyves, 37 friends on facebook and 45 on myspace. Friendster; I forgot my login.
So I guess, it's not the matter of which is better to use or more a hype. It's the influence of your social network in real life who determines which one you use more often.
My social network is very international, for I like to travel and meet new people, so I have been using all of these services. But as far as I know, my local dutch friends, they all stick with hyves.
And now, now even started my OWN social network services through Ning.
Blogging
I started to put my online diary in 1998 on my homepage www.lisax.com. Which now is not actively used because of the wide range of tools and social network provided for me and much easier to keep updated.
It is called blogging now. And as for me, I recently got my own blogger account and been transfering all the blogs from all my different social network pages, as you've noticed :-)
Status updaters/micro bloggers
In combination with the latest technology on mobile services and the social network tools, this is the "latest" hype: micro blogging. Jaiku, twitter and even on Hyves you can send a txt message from your mobile phone to edit your status on the social network services.
With all these latest phenomenons on the Internet, to stay socially connected through internet is a daily job for me now.
The next hype on the Internet? Please let it be this solution:
one site-fits-all ® !!
An all-in-one website concept combining ALL social network services, microblogging, blogs, photo albums, playlists etc. Something like a socialnetwork control room.
They would make me enormously happy ! I know there is Plaxo, but not good enough for me....
PS: This internet social network/blogging/microblogging phenomenom, feels like the booming plastic cards-economy. My wallet exist of so many plastic cards for: credits, debits, chip, public transport, students, health insurance, driving licence, IDcard, road services, gas station, supermarket bonus, suntanning, etc etc etc. I can't even find a proper wallet for it. All the cards piled up together roughly makes a 7cm thick wallet. And not to mention where to put my cash bills
Allright, thats another blog.
Understanding Marketing
For all marketeers!
I'm usually not a fan of "spam" mail. But this one I do appriciate ;-)
Aon different humor sites.
You see a fabulous girl/guy at a party. You approach them and say, "I'm fantastic in bed."
That's Direct Marketing.
You're at a party with a bunch of friends and see a fabulous girl/guy. You have one of your friends approach them, point at you and say, "She's/He's fantastic in bed."
That's Advertising.
You see a fabulous girl/guy at a party. You approach them to get their telephone number. The next day you call and say, "Hi, I'm fantastic in bed."
That's Telemarketing.
You're at a party and see a fabulous girl/guy. You get up, straighten your clothes, walk up and pour them a drink. You open the door, pick up their bag after it drops, offer them a ride, and then say, "By the way, I'm fantastic in bed."
That's Public Relations.
You're at a party and see a fabulous girl/guy. They walk up to you and say, "I hear you're fantastic in bed."
That's Brand Recognition.
I love Amsterdam
Why do I love Amsterdam?
Because we play soccer on this field surrounded by the Vincent van Gogh museum(left side), the Rijksmuseum with Rembrandts Nightwatch(in front), the beautiful Music Concert building (opposite Rijksmuseum) and the American Embassy (right side) as our audience.
And because I sneakily do a midnight picnic on this field when it's empty and abandoned, enjoying the silence and the most beautiful nightview of these buildings.
(PS: keep this as a secret)
-Because we are a free to do what we want, till a certain level > smoke inside!
- Because our Gay Pride is a canal parade on boats
- Because this is Chinatown
- Because of this sign. Dogs, please do not sit and shit here
- Because the tower clocks makes such wonderful melancholic music. A lot of people aren't even aware of these sounds, covered by the busy city life, but please pay attention if you hear clocks, it's your free brunch concert of Mozarts, Beethoven's, Bach's finest composition.
Welcome to my Amsterdam.
